Description

The lavender princess gave a small chuckle as she plopped backwards onto the grassy hill, followed right after by her navy blue companion, "Y'know, usually I don't like laying in the grass because it's so itchy, but seriously, the view here is perfect."

Dash stared blankly at her for a moment before noticing her eyes were directed up at the darkening sky. He followed her gaze to a huge ocean of stellar celestial wonder. The sky was painted a magnificent array of purple, pink, and blue hues, speckled lightly with silver pinpoints that faintly sparkled like tiny droplets made of diamond. It stretched on in wide directions, completely covering his view from his position laying on his back in the grass. He fidgeted a bit, noticing with a skip of his heart that Zeryl had edged closer.

"Look at that..." she murmured with a tone of wonder, raising one arm to point at a cluster of stars forming over the distant mountains, "there's the Greater Lion over there, it's sorta sideways, its paws are sorta tilted at the mountaintops? It's only visible during this season, I think..."

Dash turned to look at her, noticing with another skip that her fur was brushing against his, and her candy-like scent was starting to settle over his senses. For a moment, he felt dizzy, focus seeming to only narrow on that aroma. He blinked as he heard her seem to sigh, "Man, I wish I knew more constellation names, I wasn't so good at remembering 'em. I just know the Greater and Lesser Lion to be honest..." She blinked and turned her head toward him, "How about you Dash? D'you know anything about astonomy?"

Dash watched the tiny stars dance in her amethyst irises, making them light up like gems. He swallowed awkwardly, noticing his mouth had gone dry, "U-um..." he rubbed his nose, her scent still felt like it was wreathed around him, "N-not really...I don't think so...I just..." he shook his head, refocusing on her eyes, "I just...like watching them in general...without really picking out shapes and...all..." he shook his head and turned it away for a moment, feeling his face blaze. He hoped he didn't sound as horribly awkward as he thought.

"Meh...I don't think astronomy was a strong point of mine in class. Thinking back, I wasn't too good at much of anything. Same now kinda, save the powers and stuff..."

"Th-that's...not true..." Dash murmured, flicking his tail in the grass, "There's a lot of things good about y-you..." He glanced around absently at the sky above, "I m-mean...from what I knew of you...you're smart, and brave, and confident...and strong, and determined...and pretty and nice-smelling and..." he stopped, realizing that Zeryl was staring at him, a small grin coming to her features, "I-I mean...yeah..." he finished clumsily, turning his head away bashfully.

He heard Zeryl giggle, "You're really nice Dash, thank you." Before he heard her inhale something quietly and murmur "nice-smelling?" under her breath curiously.

They fell into silence, zoning out on the darkening sky above.

"Shooting star!"

Dash jumped slightly, frantically looking up at the sky to the direction Zeryl was pointing in, but saw nothing. Zeryl frowned, "Maybe not...might've just been a bug or something that flew over me." She leaned back into the grass, stretching out her arms and watching the Greater Lion she'd picked out on the horizon earlier. Dash stared at her paw that was laying a few inches from him and slowly inched his own near it, before gliding it onto her palm. A few moments passed and he felt her fingers close around his paw, but as he looked over to her, Zeryl was still eyeing the stars.

Dash felt a stupid smile pushing at his features and looked away quickly, laying his other paw over his mouth in embarrassment. Her paw was soft, so soft against his.

A few minutes ticked by in the silence, before he heard Zeryl murmur something about it getting chilly. He darted his eyes to look at her for a moment, catching her star-speckled eyes for a second before he adverted his gaze shyly. Zeryl tilted her head at him, "You okay Dash? You're looking a little red."
